Pair of armchairs by Italian designer Gio Ponti, designed in 1937. Originally part of a living room set in the lounge of a hotel in Alexandria, Egypt, the chairs were first crafted in white-painted wood with two-tone upholstery. The New Gallery has revived this iconic design, adding a complementary footstool inspired by the original design.
